The ongoing strike action and revolutionary demand for a return to Federalism or Separation is a consequence of a failed unitary government philosophy which holds that Etoudi in Yaounde can carry out uniform policies throughout the country in an even manner. The call for a restoration of Anglophone values and the respect of Anglophone culture is not simply a manifestation of Anglophone hot-temper as some people characterize it. It is evidence that a highly centralized administration cannot take care of all the problems of all the people in a manner that is fair and consistent. Anglophone Cameroonians are NOT asking the government to give them anything more than other Regions, they are NOT asking the government of Etoudi to build their schools. They are asking the government to respect their culture and give them the autonomy to do these things for themselves – that is Federalism. >>>>continue reading>>>>>

The New Nation is a booklet that encapsulates the political philosophy of USDP. It commemorates the birth of the nation by professing a philosophy of love of fatherland, and enjoins each citizen to be ready to serve it assiduously and to defend it honestly as the basis for the attainment of the fruits of the land of promise. Such a philosophy can only succeed if it is guided by strong institutions formulated to withstand time and personal interest, and to stand as a moral covenant between each individual and the nation. A New Nation directs USDP officials to work for the creation of a government which recognizes that the indigenous peoples of the Cameroon, and their descendants overseas form a single brethrenhood, and to adopt political, cultural, economic, and social mechanisms that build bridges between all Cameroonians.
